                 RISK MANAGEMENT MAINTENANCE INSPECTION PROTOCOLS

 

TREADMILLS 20 POINT INSPECTION

1. Drive belt inspection. Check for rib breakage, and cracking. Tighten, realign, and add conditioner if required.

2. Drive motor bearings. Run motor and listen for abnormal sounds in front and rear rollers.

3. Drive motor brushes. Remove and check for excess wear, clean commutator and excess carbon buildup.

4. Speed sensor. Check sensor and disc for proper spacing and feed back.

5. Walking belt. Tighten and re-align if needed, check top and bottom for excess ware.

6. Wax deck. Clean wax nozzle if required or clean belt and deck then re-wax. (if not self waxing). 

7. Frame and deck inspection. Look for weld fractures and deck grooving.

8. Front and Rear roller inspection. Excessive wax buildup, pulley breakage and excess bearing noise.

9. Electrical connections. Check all plug ends for proper connections. Look for melting points and cracking.

10. Programs. Check for full functionality.

11. Heart Rate Control. (if applicable) Check for functionality and ohm test if needed.

12. Upper board testing. Run display test if applicable.

13. Motor control board. Check LED’s.

14. Elevation gears. Check for wear and tear.

15. Elevation screws. Check for bending, clean and re-lube.

16. Elevation wheels. Visual inspection.

17. Elevation sensor. Check for proper alignment and contact with full range of motion.

18. Computer diagnostics. (if applicable) Reset any errors to defaults.

19. Vacuum interior compartment. Remove shroud and move unit to vacuum inside and underneath.

20. Wipe down exterior of units. I use a diluted disinfectant that won’t harm any sheen.

BIKES & STEPPERS 20 POINT INSPECTION

 

1. Cover screws present and tight. Replace if available.

2. Upper board test. Check diagnostics for errors and reset to default. (where applicable) .

3. Overlay. Check for cracking, button braking and functionality.

4. Programs. Check for full functionality.

5. Heart Rate Control. (if applicable) Check for functionality OHM test if needed.

6. Clutch bearings. (if applicable) Listen for abnormal sounds.

7. Crank arms. Check for fluid motion, make sure they are properly tightened.

8. Pedal straps. (if applicable) Check that they are not missing, or broken.

9. Diagnostics. (if applicable) Check for errors and reset defaults.

10. Seat and pins. Check for wear in upholstery, and. tighten if needed.

11. Level on ground . Level feet if needed.

12. Wipe down exterior of unit. I use a diluted disinfectant. The following are tested regularly but are inside components which will only be checked yearly unless problems occur otherwise.

13. Lower board test. Check LED’s.

14. Electrical connections. Check all plug ends for proper connection, look for melting points and cracking.

15. Speed sensor. Calibrated accurately and proper spacing to rpm disc.

16. Alternator / generator. Test and check battery if not powering up.

17. Chains / belts tension. Tighten, clean, re-grease or condition if necessary.

18. Brake inspection. Tighten or adjust if required.

19. Frame inspection. Look for weld fractures.

20. Vacuum and wipe down interior compartments. Move unit to clean underneath.

ELLIPTICALS 16 POINT INSPECTION

 

1. Cover screws present and tight. Replace if available.

2. Upper console / overlay. Check for cracking, and button braking.

3. Heart Rate Control. (if applicable) Check for functionality & OHM test if needed.

4. Programs. Check for full functionality.

5. Pedal arms. Check for smooth range of motion.

6. Foot pads. Make sure bolts are tight.

7. Brake. Check for proper functionality The following are tested regularly but are inside components which will only be checked yearly unless problems occur otherwise.

8. Pivot joints. Check for odd noises & grease if needed.

9. Drive belt tension. Tighten if required.

10. Drive belt alignment. Re-align & adjust pillow blocks to compensate.

11. Frame inspection. Look for weld fractures.

12. Drive belt / chain inspection. Tighten, recondition, check for cracking and fraying or clean and re-grease if necessary.

13. Lower board. Check LED’s.

14. Wire connections. Check all plug ends for proper connection, look for melting points and cracking.

15. Speed sensor. Calibrated accurately and proper alignment on rpm disc.

16. Vacuum and wipe down interior compartments. Move unit to clean underneath.

STRENGTH EQUIPMENT 19 POINT INSPECTION

 

1. Allen bolts are tight on free weights and Olympic bars. Tighten if necessary.

2. Floor mats are properly positioned.

3. Accessory inspection. Check for fractures, loose bolts then add lock tight.

4. Rubber and plastic handles. Check for tears and cracking.

5. Foam pads and handle grips are in good repair.

6. Seat post / hydraulic systems. Check for full range of motion or compression.

7. Upholstery in good condition. Check for cracking and tears.

8. Frame welds are good.

9. Frame bolts are tight. Tighten when necessary.

10. Guide rods and bearings. Clean and lube.

11. Weight stacks. Check for plate cracking.

12. Bearings I pivot joints. Listen for abnormal sounds.

13. Bushings. Check that they are not broken or missing.

14. Pulleys. Check that they are not broken, cracked or have worn bearings.

15. Cables, belts or ropes are aligned and Check for nicks, tears or fraying in good shape and under proper tension.

16. Selector pins. Present and work in all selector holes, and knobs are tight.

17. Pop pins. Are tight, have handles, and springs are good.

18. Level on ground. Adjust leveling feet.

19. Clean between weight plates. Annually. (2 people required)
